Host: Hello Jean-Baptiste Géraud. You are president of Sulake France. Sulake is a company that develops games, and is responsible for maintaining Habbo. Habbo is a game like… Does a society virtual teen?

Gaby: Habbo is a virtual world for teenagers around 15 years. It was launched in France 4 years ago and has nearly 6 million registered accounts and some 500,000 active. The peculiarity is that it is a game without a game. Here we must not kill anybody, nor add points or goals to achieve. The aim of each user will emerge, exist within the game. Host: Do you have teams of moderators in case something happens?

Gaby: Sure, Habbo universe is a moderate 24 / 7 moderated by professional moderators, and I emphasise the professionals. In the middle of the night, there are at least a moderator to ensure online users. Habbo is a community against violence.

Host: What is the difference Habbo with other virtual worlds?

Gaby: In France we are lucky to be alone, so competition could be Second Life, but every day is losing share, and actually, never attracted to adolescents. There is also a page called Dofus, which is very similar to World of Warcraft, which is more of a role play. So, in France, as Habbo, nothing.

Host: Well, important question. Habbo Is it free? Should we download it?

Gaby: Habbo is free. Access is free. 90% of people play for free, and only 10% is spent only € 10 per month to buy virtual furniture with which furnish his room.

Host: Well, finally. Any innovation that will Habbo soon?

Gaby: Habbo brings 8 years with the same aspect, since it was launched. We plan to launch a new version with many impressive developments in 2009, but I can not say more

There is a new version coming out. Dont expect much of an update graphically though..

This is good and bad news. Some people will yearn for the classic Habbo (now) because they do that already.. And of course..

take Habbo out of the Hotel and into the world.

If you're right.. That would be extremely interesting. I just figured something out.. They're doing the 'Around The World' furni.. And you say 'into the world'. I think I'm looking too deep into this though.. We'll just have to see.
