    Default Is this illegal?

Is it illegal to sell a list of 1,000 active email addresses? Not the passwords or nething like that, just the emails?

I assume its the same rules as selling vbulletin database.

Have you ever heard of the Data Protection Act? If not you might want to read it!

You have got to be kidding haven't you? Like Matt said read what 'Data Protection Act' is. You wouldn't want your private email or even your families going out to people and you getting your inbox full by spammers?

    Yes, its highly illegal!!

If I knew my email was on that list and being sold I would have something done about it, wether I would try and report you to your ISP somehow or something.

Mind if I sell your email to around 50 different companies and tell them they also have the right to sell your email on? :eusa_whis

Find their IP, do a WHOIS and then report them. Or you could take them to court or something somehow for breaching the data protection act.

No offense or anything, but I don't believe its someone else, I think its you, its a classic case of "im just asking for a friend". We've all done it, so its pretty obvious your trying to not get into trouble here

Hmm, report them to their ISP or someone like that if you know it.

It's like when you ask for a friend whether it's normal to have scales on your back...not that I ever did that...:@
