Default Jailbreak or Not? [iPod Touch]

Hey i was wondering whether or not i should jailbreak my ipod touch or not?

Does it affect the warranty or any existing apple-provided apps or anything like that?

Or does it dis-allow upgrading to v2?

    Thanks for any advice

I think it voids the warrenty, but restoring it should erase the jailbroken applications etc. but i'm not sure. You can't upgrade to 2.0 as it hasn't been jailbroken yet (or has but not released) your ipod needs to be FW 1.1.4 or lower to Jailbreak it.

But the are some awesome things you can get if you do Jailbreak it. Just goto http://www.installerapps.com/ and check them out. Use ZIPhone to Jailbreak ;D

Wrong, 2.0 has now been jailbroken. Just most of the applications havn't been rewritten for 2.0 so you can't use them. The NES emulator has been rewritten I believe.

Jailbreak for 2.0 is out. How can that void warranty when you can reset the iPod to factory default?

I've had great fun with my iPod jailbroken (1.4.4) I have SNES emulator, skin packs, MSN, VNC client, loads of games, virtual drums. It's awesome!

It does actually void the warrantee, fiddling with Apple firmware. Although you can restore and most traits of the activity have gone. When you restore, apple do not find out Thats stupid, all restore does is pretty much re-install the firmware.

I personally would jailbreak, dont let the forum make your decision, surely you do not need to rely on us!

    1.1.5 doesn't exist.

And if you restore your iPod then apple can't tell its been jailbroken.

Actully, 1.1.5 DOES exist, it comes with the new ipods (ones without 2.0) they make you pay for 2.0 dont they

And if you look on installer.app (on an already jailbroken touch) you will see "Tweaks - 1.1.5" so yeah..

Yes, you should get it jailbroken.. i recommend downgrading to 1.1.4 first though, im not sure if most of the programs will work with 1.1.5 IF it has been jailbroken..
