Default Mac mini or iMac G5 PPC?

    Hey,

I recently bought a PowerMac G4 Quicksilver which I upgraded and then re-sold for a nice profit, so I'm thinking about doing it again (although I may decide to keep the Mac in the end and not sell it).

So, what do you think would be a better Mac to get? (Bearing in mind I may decide to keep it). Should I get a Mac Mini G5 (direct from Apple) or a 20" iMac G5 (PPC)?

These are the specs of the Mac Mini:
    1.83GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    1GB memory
    80GB hard drive
    £399

These are the specs of the iMac:
    1.8GHZ PowerPC G5
    2GB Memory
    160 GB hard drive
    20" Monitor (not aluminium)
    Keyboard
    Mouse
    £420

You may think that I should definately go with the iMac, but the main reason I'm asking is this is because of the fact the iMac has a PowerPC (G5) processor and not an Intel.

Do you think it's worth going with the Mac Mini instead of the iMac because of the Intel processor? (Bearing in mind I'll probably upgrade the ram/etc).

    Thanks,
    Simon

I'm not a fan of the PowerPC Macs. I say go for the Mac Mini, For one it has intel which is like great! If you do go for the mini I suggest upgrading it to 2GB and if its on tiger, get it on leopard?

I would personally get the Mini because well its not PPC and the fact its cheaper - You could probably sell it for a bit more once upgraded and also it allows the person who is purchasing the machine to choose what monitor etc they have.

    So yeah

    I was..

A friend of mine has offered to buy it from me (without a monitor/keyboard/mouse/etc) for £375, so I've agreed to sell it to him.

SO because of this I just bought a new Mac Mini from the Apple UK Education store and I'm going to buy a Apple Cinema monitor when it arrives I think ^_^.
