File naming software

Hello,

I need some software that will rename a whole folder of pictures to a certain thing.

Like I want to put something like "ImageX" into the program and it will rename them all too Image1, Image2, Image3, Image4 etc...

Any good free ones?

Hmm well i'm sure on my XP i can highlight all of the files i want to do it to, right click, rename and then call it something and it names them all like "name(1)" "name(2)" etc. Don't know if it's domething i've installed though i can't remember.

nope thats a standard feature of XP and Vista .. to prevent you having the same name on each file it gives it a unique number

Yeah just highlight the files you want with CTRL (Or Shift) and then rename the top file such as 'trainspotting' and then all the rest will be 'trainspotting(1)' and trainspotting(2)' etc, works on XP and Vista.

No he said that he was unsure if it was something he had installed. I was just enforcing his post as the correct solution as he was in doubt

I thought it wasn't but i wasn't 100% so that's why i said it just incase. My reckoning was that it would number them cos you can't have files of the same name.
