I think that's pretty fair, but alexa ranking with a program is not.

seo means getting better ranks in google, msn, or yahoo or any other serach engine.

if you want you're traffic to increese, most people do this. But requires a lot of content, and effect to get you to the top page.

to get to the top, you need backlinks, directory subbmsion, soical submissions, ie, digg, etc.

if you do it right, you can become top, if you do it wrong, and get a lot of spammy links this means blackhat SEO.

Blackhat SEO isn't an expliot either. Its just a way to get search engine bots to pick up more information about your site, thus getting you higher rankings on searches.
