why don't you click the sound button thing at the bottom right? i dunno wot it is, it looks like speakers lolol
right click it & "adjust audio properties"
go to audio and pull the microphone lever thing up?

Try configuring your sound board, it is probably under AC97 or something like that..
I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.
I tried, still wont work :@
And metric, where is that?
Is the microphone USB or a 3.5MM Jack (Usually pink or black)
It's a plug in jack!
Make sure the Mic Volume is not muted, turn it up full blast
To test if it picks up anything go to Run -> sndrec32.exe
then record your sound the green line should wave around the place if it picks up any sounds from your mic
As it's a plug-in jack and it works with other computers than means it's a problem with your computer.
It could be software related, try the above or try get the computet to recognise a microphone is plugged in.
It could also be a hardware problem, try plugging another microphone into it and see if that works.
I think this may be the same problem as mine.
Try this;

- Click on the sound / volume controls icon.
- Click options > Advanced controls.
- Their should be a control for microphones now.
- Click 'advanced' underneath and then tick the 'Mic boost' checkbox.
- See if this helps, Here is a screenshot to help you.
