    Default Chat system

Basically that users, no matter where they are on the forum can be logged in the chat.

The forum would need cookies so no matter what page you load on HXF you can view the chat at the bottom above the template selection, so you dont need to login every time?

Like, instead of just the homepage of HXF.

If anybody understands what I am saying? You could also disable/enable it (the user) to stop showing up.

(see attachment for a crappy sketch of the chat size on every page?) red = the customise buttons, font etc)

I think there should be a shoutbox at the top of the forum more people would talk.

A shoutbox would cause MAJOR lag on the forum from what I've heard

I disagree with that, the bandwidth would be a nightmare, its not exactly easy maintainable as the user chat system is and there's a much much wider option availability in the chat system.

I don't think having it keep through all the pages is possible, unless we put all of HxF in an iframe. Simple solution is to disable Chat on forum home, and open Chat in a seperate window. To do that either type the chat URL in there, or right click chat in the orange bar and click open in new window
It costs nothing to be a good friend.

I also use the account nvrspk on other computers.

The problem with that is, you don't want too many people to talk because the chances of your post being red is 1 in x amount of people, it'll just be flooded out the way and the only people who will pay attention to chat comments are the ones in deep conversation who only care about a small group of people having a conversation. The only way around it would be to have about 10 rooms, and when you enter the chat you randomly appear in one of them, rather than a lobby of some sorts.

The comes the problem of changing pages to look at threads etc. It will disconnect you :/
