I had mine in June. It's not hard at all. Our teacher gave us some sample questions and made us write prepared answers for them, so we can learn them for the exam. Choose a harder topic for your chosen and you'll be lucky with the surprise topic.

I had my french 2 years ago but it's piss easy as long as you learn what you need to say.

I had both my French and German in the past June. I was in top set for both and I'm among the top in my class, making me top in the grade. How good you are doesn't determine your conversation topics. It's just by random.
