    Can anyone recommend a good youtube downloader? I tried Vixy but it didnt work for me. Anyone know any good ones?

    I do it all on my own computer. If you have Firefox, download Greasemonkey addon and add the below JS Script, hidden in the spoiler. I've tweaked it so Youtube files will be saved as MP4 files, so you can upload them onto your iPod if you like. Note also, you can get Google Vids, Metacafe, Myspace vids and Break.com in the deal.

    www.keepvid.com - It downloads directly from Youtube and it can be saved in MP4.

    download the firefox addon, go to the youtube vid, watch it, click the mediaconverter logo next to your address bar, select mp3, 256kbps then it converts and you download it

    I use www.zamzar.com Only problem I have with it is it can take a while to get the email with your file, but it does mean you don't have to install anything on your computer.
