    Default Population Growth

    Hey, yeah well one of the questions for my geography homework is;

    "Could it be true to say the growth in population in the 20th century was unique and can never be repeated"

    Could anyone possiby help me with that??

    It was unique in that we had two world wars, the spanish flu pandemic and quite a lot more that killed millions.
    Then the advancement of travel and information sharing brought the world closer together like no other century.
    Those will have contributed and there's nothing on that scale in history before (except the great plague and discovering the New World).

    Thanks, but maybe I didn't explain well enough.

    The question is reffering to how the population was always below 2 billion until around the 1900's where it suddenly grew to around the 6 billion mark by 2000. Therefore it is asking whether or not it will grow so rapidly again in the future.

    Ahyeah, I thought my answer was a bit too History/Socialogy based. Sorry.

    Well, there's no right or wrong answer for that. Trying just going with what you think and putting your arguements for that, then adding the counterarguement for balance. I didn't take Geography so I'm not that good, sorry =[
