New layout - WIP

Hey.

This is a layout i've been working on for a few hours. I was trying something new to try and break the habit I seem to have of producing nearly the same layout over and over. I need ideas for the content layout. If anyone has any, i'd be happy to hear them

Wow I like it.

The colours definately work well together and as for content, i think a blog/portfolia as stated in the picture itself would suit it!! lol

I like the colours. I suppose it just depends on peoples tastes. Everyone's different.

Well, the red could be ok, but with a different background colour.

Something unique from you! Looks pretty good so far, not 100% sure on the browny colour, the red and grey seem to fit well.

Couple a of thing to try;

Lighten up the outer glows, try using white but make it just noticeable, I see it quite a bit and if its done right it looks really good.

Use a slightly darker outline on the navigation bar and box, the bright red is a bit much. Try making it darker, but only a little. Try and make it be seen but not stand out.

Maybe try scrapping the gradient in the footer and just using the same block grey colour you used above the navigation.

UPDATE:

I darkened the background and darkened the inner glows to a darker shade of red so they don't stick out as much.
I tried the white inner glow as redtom suggested but it didn't look right, I don't think I can get it to go like you said, lol
