    Default Upgrading PC for games

Well, The Sims 3 is out next year, scheduled for anyway, and I want to upgrade my PC so it can handle it nicely and run smoothly with it.

What would I have to change? I would assume RAM and graphics card, or processor? I don't know.

My Graphics card is an ATI Radeon something or other, it's not ancient. 2048mb RAM and 2.8 GHz dual processor. The Sims 2 is fine at the moment [just a bit slow when I have loads of stuff], I just want the Sims 3 to be awesome.

Oh yeah and I have no idea if this is the right forum, there's so many stupid catagories in this place.

    Hi Nitron.

I suppose your processor could do with a little boost, as mine does. i think a Quad core might benift you if you are a gamer.

    Ram you should look at,

    Or something simmilar.

As for the graphics card, you could lower sims 3 right down but it would look crap, so i'd go for a up to date graphics card. psosible the 8800GTX (nvidea)

But still, Maxis hasnt gave us the final requirements for the sims 3

Just have to wait and see,

Dude, the 8800GTX is a 2 and a half year old graphics card. I wouldn't call that, up to date.

    Hi,

That computer should be able to run Sims 3 quite easilly, the quality may not be great and you might have to close some programs down due to lagging/freezing.

I would get 3GB ram, upgrade your processor and swap out your graphics card. I wouldn't go with a really high-end card, just a recent card with decent performance.

Check your cooling and power supply can handle the faster processor and graphics card before ordering.
