it allows you to play multiplayer games with one card
i.e tetris fifa etc... i know from personal experience

So if one of your friends has a game and you don't, you can use ds download play and you can play multiplayer with him

Yep but it only works with certain games. You can also download Demos in some shops for Download stations like in ASDA near me.
