Has anyone ever messed around with this?

I just started messing with it the other day, and I find it simply amazing.

I'm not too big of a fan of PHP frameworks.. most of them are just too overloaded and complicated for things that I needed to do.

I love CI though, surprisingly. It gives you the flexibility and legroom to integrate what you want into it.. but also saves you more time then I could ever imagine.

One of my favorite things would have to be the Active Record support.. meaning you can do method chaining like this..

$this->db->from('uploads')->where('id', $id)->count_all_results() and it will do the query and num_rows for you.

That's just a simple example of the little things you can do..

It has saved me more time then I could ever imagine.

Here's an example Model I threw up a second ago for a new version of TehUpload:

Not amazing, but shows some of the power of it.

    ^_^. I love it.

I had a muckabout with it after seeing it in .net magazine (I think) but I must admit I'm not really a fan of frameworks. I can definately see the benefits though for larger scale projects where hard coding your own would waste more time than it's worth.

I've not really been a big fan of frameworks either. I tried using Zend in some of my projects for weeks.. and just couldn't get into it..

I have CI though.. for some reason.. probably because it's so flexible. I'm actually using MVC for once.
