McAfee- RUBBISH!

Firstly if I have posted in the wrong section, I am sorry.
Basically I have had McAfee for 2 years, in that period of time my computer was infected a hell of a alot of times and there were many viruses. I had to fully re install my computer two times.
I had enough of McAfee today so I decided to uninstall it (I didnt know this could be done) and then downloaded AVG. As soon as I did AVG found A LOT of threats on my computer and I quickly removed them. Also, a few viruses came from McAfee yes! I was so angry :@ That really annoyed me and just bascially DONT TRUST MCAFEE! This isnt the first time I had viruses from McAfee!

Sure you didn't download a fake version of McAfee? it's a fairly decent program - you wouldn't get viruses from it... lol

I dint get the fake... trust me one of my dads friends who works with computers downloaded it... but thats waht happens

Anyway, you said you were unaware that you could un-install McAfee which leads me to believe you aren't the best with computers so there is a high risk you were not using McAfee correctly (whether it was disabled or whatever) or it was indeed not McAfee at all.

McAfee are a big and popular company, they wouldn't have a program which didn't work at all or contained viruses, before you go blaming them for everything perhaps you should look at how you were using the program first. If the program was operating poorly loads of people would have complained and a new update would have been rolled out.

Sam, McAfee are a professional company yes, and so is Norton, but that doesn't mean they have the best detection rates.

To be honest its your own fault for getting the viruses (McAfee didn't give you any). If you stick to safe sites then you won't get any. I haven't been using virus protection for a few months and I'm not part of a botnet and I still have a system32 folder, it just shows what you can do if you are careful.

Because I have only downloaded files from trusted sites. There is no way I could have a virus.

Zonealarm FTW, mcafee is tidy but someone managed to get through mine when I had dial-up and made a connection to china -.- cost us £100 on the phone bill. Zonealarm was installed and its been fine

Only one id avoid is Norton, biggest pile of **** ive seen.

I don't see anything wrong with Norton *lol*.
It's worked fine for me.
