I know you usually use an optical cable, but my surround sound doesnt have an optical port...I want to stick using hdmi so is there any way around this problem and being able to use it with hdmi and use my surround sound without an optical cable?

nope didnt work no sound came out the surround sound
I think there is a coaxial (or whatever it's called) port at the back. (The one with the really thin wire). That might provide surround sound....
Chippiewill.
Can you not just plug the ps3 into the TV then plug the TV into surround?![]()
It is. Thats what we do...
Optical cable from surround to TV. Everything comes out surround
Surround didnt have an optical port, ive done it now anyway, I just had to use the hdmi for picture then dig out the PS3 cable that comes with it for the sound.
