Rock Band question.

Yo' for my birthday in May Im thinking of getting Rock Band 1 and 2.
Im unsure wether to get the instruments from 1 or 2, what would you recommend and also if I download a bunch of songs that were released for rock band 1 would they work for rock band 2 aswell, also what about the songs on the rock band 1 disc i heard you can move them onto your hdd and play on rb2

I recommend buying a GTH first, as I think the rockband guitars are really bad, compared to Guitar Hero.

All RB stuff works on RB2, I got RB instruments since they seem more reliable than some of the RB2 stuff and you can play RB, RB2 and GH:WT with them so you can have all 3 games and only one set of instruments.

You can pay to transfer songs from RB1 to RB2 and all RB DLC is compatible with both games.

i wud get either the ghwt guitar or guitar hero 2 explorer and the rock band 2 drums imo

I'd get the RB2 instruments, the Guitar has slight improvements - such as quieter fret buttons, and the drums are a lot quieter and more reliable than the RB1 ones. My RB1 drums are knackered and literally don't register, or double register about every 1 in 20 notes. I bought them May last year, so RB1 drums don't last long.

All songs you download appear on both RB and RB2, and you can transfer around 50/54 of RB1 to RB2 for 400 MSP.

They're not. There's a thread on the Rock Band forums about them not being out and another one about the responses from people in shops someone got when they asked about them. Funny stuff like "errrr.. Oh! You must mean them Guitar Hero World Tour instruments! Didn't you see the boxes over there?!"

That's lame but oh well, I heard the RB2 drums are faulty anyway.
