The VIP Situation

Hey,

This is a thread for all of you as it concerns all of you, and it could well benefit you. VIP, and all of its features vanished on New Years day, and it's only available to competition winners and MoTM now, thats a fact. Thing is though thats unfair, unfair on the members who have been loyal to HxF through the years and the people who have paid for VIP in the past, since its a great service but sadly got scrapped because of the moneygrabbing overlord Sulake.

Some of the features that you could get from VIP are pretty good, and not everyone gets involved in competitions, and you can only win MoTM once anyway(?) so what happens once you've won, thats your month up and you can no longer be a VIP till youve entered another competition, DESPITE MoTM is a involuntary competition that you win for being good for a month. :S

What I propose is that some of the features that have proven VIP to be a popular service, be given to ONLY high ranked members of the forum as a reward for their loyalty & being active on the forum, making it what it is today. Giving a VIP feature or two to one rank and upgrading it as you go along is fair, right? We're not allowed to buy it, but we're allowed to donate to HabboxForum to keep it going and we get a fancy colored username for that. This is what Im saying:

Sapphire Members recieve...
Exclusive Access to the Arcade

Why?
It helps MODs from closing unneccesary threads, plus it helps prevents large arguments.

Ability to close their own threads
A PM Storage of 500 (originally Platinum)

Why?

Ability to turn themselves invisible (already in Platinum anyway)
Ability to view whose repped them
Custom usertitle
PM Storage of 600 (The VIP rate)

Why?
Platinum members are getting a good deal, and why not? They've posted 20,000 times, they've been part of the forum for ages and there's only... 3 Platinum members on the forum now I think?

A custom usetitle would not be abused as a senior member would naturally not abuse it, plus it can be easily moderated as there is not many of them. The ability to view who repped you was why everyone bought VIP, so if you know youll get it at platinum, surely youll post to get that?

This should be given to EVERYONE, but at a limit. 3 namechanges per user, and only 3 namechanges (unless theyre staff of course). I've seen this system used before and its very effective, and time saving too!

Post your birthday/events on the Habbox Calender:

Who care? Come on, who cares, nobody paid for a feature like that and I think personally, its really unnecessary.

What do you guys think about that? I think it'd benefit both management, staff and members. Less to do for staff, more features for members to look forward to by staying on the forum, and for management an active forum where they can do VIP competitions!

That took me a while to write, so I'd appreciate some feedback on the rank choices as well as other features you think would be nice, or even other ideas.

I like the idea, but I think it would be unfair on those that have actually paid for VIP before it was stopped because they paid for the service, and it would be unfair if that service became free.

But its not becoming free, we have to pay for a user color through the 1 pound of supporting the forum and becoming a donator. VIP members wouldn't care if they lost the ability to use the arcade by themselves, since eventually there will be none left. I see where you're coming from on the people who did pay, but they're getting all the features including a larger sig and what have you.

Plus, in a year I bet there will still be more VIP members than platinum members, by a large margin so they're not really losing out on their best feature (looking at who repped you). What about people who win VIP through competitions? Most likely HxF will do a comp to win 6 months VIP, how will the people who paid for it feel? It's the same situation.

Yeah Elliot you did sorry, I love you really. :< The idea is that you dont get 20,000 posts for ages, too many platinum members would ideally spoil the idea, and then they'd move up the limit again. It's like inflation!

If you post alot, its not hard to get 20,000 posts, jesus got his in like a few months...

I also thought about including a reputation system for every member on the forum, yknow +5 rep points when you log into the forum for one month. Monthly rep, alot like the VIP one for 25 points but I thought that'd be hard to implement as Brandon had to add on the rep points himself, and doing a whole forum would take years.
