    in the sun newspaper yesterday..

    that business man that paid 50k for the CR7 numberplate, hoping to make a major profit if ronaldo wants it.
    Made me laugh, but its a quality idea.

    The funny thing is, hes got it registered to a old crap ford escort lol.

    haha, what a stupid 'hit or miss' way of making a profit,

    also the numberplate 'CR7' is not on the insurance database, thus not on a car.

    i'm the star in the reasonably priced car!

    It will still be unclaimed at the DVLA hense not showing on any database at the minute

    if the numberplate is registered to a vehicle it will show on the national insurance database. if it is not on there, it will not be legally on a vehicle.

    Actualy no.
    Not all insurance companies are on the NID.
    One of the problems with cars fitted with ANPR
    propper need a good sig:\

    cars are not fitted with ANPR, it's a system used by the police to do numberplate checks. it stands for 'automatic number plate recognition'

    If they are processing paperwork for it, it won't be showing as they might have just received the paperwork. The OP said it was sold, so it would be in an unclaimed pool of registrations.

    Basically you can't register a plate if it hasn't been assigned to a motor

    How do u know the vehicles details arent hidden then?
