For today only Microsoft are offering the limited-edition Gold Lancer to everyone for free, previously you could only get these if you bought the Special Edition of the game.
They're only possible to get on Xbox.com and not the Xbox 360 Marketplace.
Go here and add it to your queue, when you turn on your Xbox it'll download it

It does, the link is to the American website but it still worked for me and some others.

Turns out that it was made in error and that all non-special ediiton one's will be removed, after all it wasn't a one-day special like my sources reported
