    Default HP to Ultimate??

    Hi

I'm trying to upgrade my Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows Vista Ultimate.

Now, i put disk in, (while on windows), click install now, put vista ultimate serial in, and then it comes up some options.

    Upgrade
    Custom Install

But Upgrade is greyed out, and that's what i want to do.

    Any ideas?

You need an upgrade disc to use the upgrade option.

but i've done it before with the same disc?

    It says:
    Upgrade option is disabled:
Because you need to upgrade to a newer more expensive version tno upgrade or something like that.

    I don't get it.

It could be because you're trying to upgrade a SP1 Home Premium to just a normal version of Ultimate..

I think you will have to format, or you could just go:

Right click on Computer > Click Properties > Change Product Key and then type in your Ultimate product key.

You could try and download an Ultimate with SP1 installed copy.
