and like i've tried strepsils but i swear they make it worse, its just even more sore

i think you got the flu, keep taking paracetemal and stop in bed, try not to get into the cold

I would recommend strepsils but you said they don't work. Have your tried lockets/soothers/halls cold sweets? Also, take some ibuprofen and it might help.
