He's just announced it. Although they stayed up they've been in free fall so I guess he realised he's not the right man for the job. Wonder who they'll get in. I think it's a relatively attractive job. Few decent players and always money to spend.

Marin Jol - Just no.
Sven - eh, he did ok at city, similar circumstances here, plenty of cash to spend.
Slaven Bilic - after Keane who had no experince, and sbragia who had no experience, we want ANOTHER manager with no top level experence?
Bruce - Yes please.ove3:

Curbs - Why not?
Why not Jol? :SMarin Jol - Just no.

Curbs or McLaren in.
I think it's funny how Sunderland fans think their club is awesome. I have news for you. It's not. You barely escaped relegation this season and you think you can get Martin Jol? That manager who took Hamburg to the semi-finals of the UEFA cup and has qualified for the same competition next term? Get real.
i only said everyone we had been rumoured with, to be fair, Bilic is signed with croatia til the end of WC2010 and bruce wouldnt leave Wigan. chill out. go have a juice box or a nap if your getting grumpy.I think it's funny how Sunderland fans think their club is awesome. dno, just never rated him. I suppose anyone who can spend wisely is ok with me, we did have keane and as Adam said before, he spent 70 mil and came out of there with malbranque, ferdinand and tainio. nice one.

Frustrates me with this 'big club' attitude that is reminiscent of the same arrogance that Leeds fans have. Well done on escaping relegation but so did Hull, and they're not looking at Martin Jol.
i never said we were big, im just looking forward to next season, to getting bigger if you will. but to be fair, Newcastle are still a big club. 55,000 fans a week cant be a small town team. I was mulling over all the possibilities. truth is, I'd take any of those managers. im pretty sure no sunderland fan will have started the Jol rumour, and if they have, they're pretty optimistic. and ty babe. xx
Sunderland are not Hull mate. They are a much bigger club with 3 premier titles to their name and a good amount of cash. Their stadium is brilliant and their fans are loyal (I should know I used to live there).
Also they proved they are the best club in the north-east England which means alot to them, if football is still as big as it was when I was there
