Default schools to be closed for at least a month

The Sun have revealed that the schools maybe having at LEAST a month off due to swine flu in the schools.

THE school summer holiday may be extended by at least a MONTH</B> because of swine flu.

Education chiefs will monitor increases in the spread of the virus and tell heads in late August.
Around 1,000 schools have already reported cases of the bug.

Among youngsters to have died are six-year-old Chloe Buckley. Her school, St Catherine Roman Catholic Primary in West Drayton, West London, was closed early for the summer break. Most schools broke up yesterday.

    Hope ... Andy Burnham

A planning document by the Department of Health suggests that if the current growth in cases continues there could be a peak in the pandemic in early September with up to a third of the population sick.
But Health Secretary Andy Burnham predicted cases could fall in the summer months, as kids stop mixing in class. There could then be a resurgence of the bug when schools reopen in the autumn.
The number of deaths linked to swine flu stands at 29, with no fatalities reported yesterday.
A statement from the Department for Children, Schools and Families said: "It is important to know what will happen at the start of the term.
"We expect that schools will reopen as usual, but at this time, we cannot be certain what the situation will be. We will need to monitor developments over the summer."

A BOY who died in Strood, Kent, did not have swine flu, health officials have confirmed.
He attended English Martyrs Roman Catholic Primary - not Sherwin Knight Infants as reported, which has not been hit by the bug.

That may well be true to an extent (However some people will be naturally immune and just lucky not to get it) but once you've had it you get some sort of immunity making it unlikely you'll get it again, so although a lot of people will get it, it won't be at the same time

Ye I read this yesterday. Its only going to happen if like all schools get it. So far like 1200 have it.
+ Ye, next year we probably wont have as many breaks and summer holiday will start later and end earlier to compensate for that month. OR They will be nice and let it go.
