Dual Monitors

I have a Dell Laptop, and I was wondering whether it would be possible to connect my laptop to a computer monitor and increase the amount of space I currently have on my desktop and the amount of workspace I have.

What sort of cables do I need?
I have a feeling Vista has software pre-installed...

Yes it can. You just need a VGA cable (unless your laptop has some sort of other groovy connector).

All you need to do is plug the VGA cable from the monitor into the laptop and then right click properties and click extend desktop, done
