Default The stupid sexual nature rule

    http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=593061

That thread got closed for it, admittedly it should be closed anyway but not for that reason. However, this rule is in place but never applied - for instance:

All threads of a sexual nature. Open and brimming with MATURE discussions. I think the rule should be abolished completely. Obviously if someone describes second by second their sexual encounters going into graphic detail, punish them and send them to Demented Hills Hospital but this rule is pathetic.

I agree with you Adam. The threads that have remained open which are related to sex are discussed in a mature manner because anyone who was being immature would be ripped to shreds anyway, lol.

If someone started going into such detail then (super) moderators could just infraction them with the inappropriate post option rather than having a specific rule which doesn't really have to be there and is equivocal anyway.

The rule is meant to be used responsibly and people who dont use it properly do get punished for it and things go get removed.

Them threads you highlighted are being used maturely and its not as if sexual acts are being discussed. Them threads are just to get some information about the forum, Mentor is collecting information and making graphs from his findings and they all seem mature and to be following the rules.

Wrong. There's a rule saying don't discuss sexual nature which these threads do.

    See my point?

Agreed - places with too many rules which could mean the same thing are frustrating.

*cough*Posting in a foreign language IS pointless*cough*Pointless posting rule

The spam forum is a walking talking sex talk thriving forum anyway, and most discussions are just a tad below the belt. But that thread you pointed out IS pointless, so technically the logic behind it is, that thread should have a mention about sex AND pointless posting :/

The spirit of rule seems to be applied consistently, if not the letter of the rule. The thread you linked to that was closed was clearly asking for details and specifics about the act which are blatantly going to get graphic, whereas the other threads you linked to are talking about the act itself rather than the intricate details.

I don't know if I'm making sense to anyone but myself but hey

I know what they'll come back with - "if we don't have this rule, people will start going into detail etc". But that's like saying we need a seperate rule for things like:

    • Do not post your plans of genecide
    • Do not plan a terrorist action
    • etc

    Silly rule.

Don't swear, don't abuse and don't be negative.

    Only rules needed

Makes sense to me, but the first thread was closed mainly due to it being pointless really - like asking "Has anyone eaten a sasuage, what's it like?" Besides, he/she would of gotten ripped apart anyway, immature sex conversations are gnarly

Mentor's aren't graphic at all, he asked questions which would be anonymous and didn't require a reply so anyone breaking the "do not discuss in detail blahblah" it's their own fault and not the thread starter. The first thread was asking to describe in details, breaking the rules and therefore closed rightfully.
