Default When/How to tell someone your feelings?

There's this girl I've had a crush on since secondry school.
    This is her:

Now I've never told her how I feel. Whenever I speak to her its strange.
My mind rushes at a million miles an hour and when I open my mouth, a combination of the thoughts appear within my voice but make no sense.
    Its awesome.

I love the feeling so much and I think its time to tell her how I feel.

Last week was her 22nd birthday, but I was in Ibiza however I am now home. And she is now back from University after getting her degree in Law.

Her favourite films are the High School Musical series so I wanted to get her something that she'll love but is still different to what anyone else would have.

I run the risk of losing her as a friend if she rejects my feelings which I suppose is the biggest risk. But hopefully, it will be worth it.

So I've won an auction in America and her presents are en route. She has given me some time next week to see her so I suppose we'll find out then. :S

I'm not really sure how or when to give her these gifts or how to tell her how I feel. I don't know if to take her out for a meal and do it at the table or to wait until after. So yeah. Advice me up little ones.

People of all ages enjoy Disney.
She isn't a screaming Jonas Brother fan, just someone who likes the concept of smiles and singing I suppose.

    hahahah.

    I'm 21, she's 22.
We've known each other for well over nine years and we're close friends as it is but I've never told her how I feel about her in a "more than friends" way.

As for going over the top, I normally get presents for my close friends that I know they will enjoy. I'm lucky to have a good enough job to be able to do so.

It's entirely likely that you only feel this way because she's a girl who is very close to you - something you associate with a loving relationship. A lot of the time however it really is better to remain friends, especially if she doesn't show signs of wanting you in that way. By all means crack one out over the thought of her and enjoy doing so, but seriously girls do not tend to think in this way as much as us (see the Andie/Duckie relationship in Pretty in Pink) so as easy as it is for us all just say "sure go for it and just tell her", that may not be the greatest of plans. Personally I'd look into what it is that makes you enjoy being around her as a friend and work on that, because a close opposite gender friend that you can rely on is really better than a girlfriend (just don't tell girlfriends that... ever)

Cheers Rascal for a genuine reply.
I know what you mean. My best friend from being 11 years old to 17 was a girl and it was always cool to see her perspective on the world.

I need to find out how I really feel and seriously think about what happens if she gets scared by what I say as I don't want to lose her as a friend. :S

i agree with this as all to many times ive seen / experainced a freindship go wrong when there true feelings was said and the other didnt feel this way as they didnt look out for signs or try little things like seeing if they would do somthign a freind wouldnt but someone who really likes u and wants to be in a relationship with u would do.

my advice is test the water try little things like when u walk near by does she make automatic eye contact with u or just keep talking untill u make ya self noticed and stuff that would give u strong hints that she likes u.

but by all means if u want to go for it go for it and i wish u all the best with it
