    Default TalkTalk Broadband

My family is currently with BT who's Broadband service is really bad. It alternates so much, we're supposed to be getting 8mbps yet I get like 4mbps all the time. My dad got this guy round from TalkTalk so we waffled away for a while and measured the line and said we are getting 8mbps through it, that's alright, the price is better than BT & Virgin anyway. But he was talking about a booster for the speed and I checked up on the site, it said
Speed is important when you're downloading music and films or gaming online.
With our Turbo Boost you'll get up to 24Meg speeds! This means you can download a song in under two seconds, or a whole movie in less than four minutes...so instead of waiting for your downloads, you'll be busy building your families collection to entertain them over the summer.
And at only £4 per month, our prices knock the socks off other fast broadband providers. Getting the same broadband speeds with Sky's BB Unlimited + Sky TV will cost you £331.69 more* and with Virgin's XL Size BB you'll be paying a whopping £106.69 more*.
    Turbo Boost
Compatible router required. We“ll give you the highest available speed up to 24Mbps. Top speed depends on line quality, internal wiring and proximity to BT exchange.
There is like a BT tower around a 10 minute walk from here, would the turbo boost make any difference to the speed?

I'm with TalkTalk, there quite good tbh, I was with sky broadband but I went with TalkTalk. Its OK as I said, but every time someone calls the house phone the Internet DC's, and when you hang up it DC's as well.

Odd, we get the maximum speed our line can physically handle 24/7 (yes we live out in the countryside.)

How do these boosters work? BT was advertising a booster in their latest adverts and it sounded interesting (not the BT part, just the booster ). They sound too good to be true :/

It depends on your line, because I am getting 4MBPS at the most and that's all that my line can handle, which is a joke really.

TalkTalk is just AOL with a different name, my AOL service is horrendous so yeah I wouldn't go with them.
