    Default Losing weight

So im planning to lose weight from now till the new year, just a couple of pounds or a few kilos. So i thought to myself ill start swimming next week 2-3 times a week as i used to enjoy swimming alot. But that wont help much if i dont eat healthy as well. I've tried limiting myself to fatty foods but working in a fast food restaurant 2days a week is hard feeling so tempted. I need to lose this weight fast ive put on so much since October, can u name me any healthy meals and procedures to complete these ? I've tried the gym before and its not just for me ... but swimming i'd look forawrd to it every week if i had the chane to go for a swim say 5-6 hours p.w. I've tried eating less, even starving myself but i just end up eating more and more.

Before you do anything brush up on your nutritional knowledge.

Eat 500-800 calories less than maintenence a day / cardio is helpful but not neccessary.

As for food groups, you mainly need to cut down on simple sugars and saturates.
    When cutting I would not reccommend eating ANY sugars, even fruit should be avoided. Instead eat carbs like; potatoes - oats - wholemeal etc. Fats are needed and should not be avoided. Eat natural fats and oils; all nuts - peanut butter - olives - whole milk ... all these contain alot of mono and poly unsaturates. And last but not least your protein. Try to include as much lean meat as possible into your diet I would try to balance my diet like so;

    35% protein - 40% fats - 25% carbs
How much calories you should be eating depends on your weight and metabolic rate

If you don't have a clue what i just said, read what's in bold

ive lost quite a lot of weight over the last year. basically i stopped eating when i was bored. i also stopped eating white bread, which helps vastly and in essence you basically need to eat less and move more. i also do situps every night which increases muscle mass and in turn that'll stimulate your metabolism and it'll become faster.

it will take time though dont be disappointed if you dont see results right away

Okay from personal experience you dont need to do any "working out" to lose any weight or mass.
Working out is only going to increase your muscle mass and this increase your weight. There is no burning of fat if you do weights (perhaps a little but its not enough to notice).

To really burn off fat stores in the body all you need to do is go for a nice long jog, at your own pace for an extended period of time. 1 hour+ is perfect.

The reason for a LONG jog is so that the body can start converting its fat stores into useable energy to power the muscles.

A high carbohydrate diet will also provide energy to power you through the jog without any tiring of the muscles.
And if you add protein into the diet you will in turn repair the muscles that you have been using during the jog, the protein repairs the muscle and makes in stronger.

    Hope I could help

no, it is infact better than just cardio.

Protein deposition (muscle growth) can be important in losing weight fast because it affects our metabolism. As stated above, there is more protein breakdown between meals so if a dieter hardly eats in order to lose weight then more protein will be lost from muscle cells resulting in a lowered metabolic rate. A high metabolism is a must if you wish to lose fat weight quickly!

We burn fat through-out the day, weight training does burn body fat.

Weight lifting increases your lean body mass = increasing ammount of energy burned throughout the day.

Aslong as your below maintenence (exercise or not) you will loose weight
