Idea, I think that when you make so many succesful threads (2-5 pages) then you should get a prize or a badge.

Could be an idea if the badge system was implemented with vb4.

it doesn't make sense to reward people for creating threads. really members should be doing so naturally if they wish to keep the forum interesting. anyway, if what you propose was the case, then we'd have an influx of pointless threads where people which to get the reward and thus removes the 'community' feel of the forum and replaces it with competition.

oh and just because a thread has loads of pages, doesn't make it successful. quality, not quantity

It'd encourage people to create threads and keep them active.

but how can you judge whether a thread is successful or not? i only way what he's saying could be 'successful' is if moderators/managers/an appointed team or whoever selected a bunch of threads every week which they thought were good enough to receive such award/badge. but i don't think rewarding based upon how many pages a thread gets is logical.

Good point. You could only do it on posts and they can easily be spammed to get higher to cheat the system. Probably just best to stick with posting awards, although people will spam to get these too.
