Default Reinstalling XP with no CD/CD image

I've got an ancient box, but its' got a virus on it. (Pentium III, ms-6163 mobo)

I have no i386 on my hard disk, and the CD drive is on the blink and don't read CD-RW/+RW anyway. I don't have the disk, its an old PC.

Its on XP Professional. Any other way to reinstall XP? I don't think my mobo can support plug and play, and the wi-fi card is broken, so can't get on the internet with it either. The biggest memory stick I have is 4Gb.

You can either use that 4GB memory stick (IF, but I doubt, the computer can boot from USB), you could also use PXE booting (you run a PXE server on another computer and use some XP install files that is sent from the server program to the client on the computer's BIOS) or get another DVD/CD drive. Can Google for all of these as there are many different ways of doing them all.

It's always a pain in the ass to get them set up though.

PXE booting isn't on it as far as I'm aware. How the hell do the 2 link up anyway? Remember that on the client system, the Wi-Fi card will not pick up a signal.

You'd have to use an ethernet cable, and most BIOS, old and new, should support PXE, and if it doesn't, you can get floppy disks that can do it on any machine just about.

Looking at how old this Pentium III is, it seems not to be worth the bother. I shall steal the sound card, and wipe the hard disk, and ditch the rest.

    Thanks anyway.
