Not really gonna happen unless you're willing to go with ebay.
RAM is expensive at the moment.
Could try ebuyer / amazon as they are normally quite cheap on computers and electronics. Also ebay as above said
I say eBay. Just got 2 x 256Mb sticks of DDR 400 RAM for £2.50. (INCLUDING POSTAGE)
There were some job lots of loads of RAM sticks for around £15, may be worth a look.
AMD Phenom X4 955 BE - 8GB RAM - Asus M5A97 - MSI HD6870 HAWK - Windows 8.1 Pro 64 - Samsung 840 Pro 256GB

A german company called Qimonda.
You'd think the likes of Crucial and Kingston would have enough supply going, but apparently not?
Got a 1GB stick for just under £10 from eBuyer once, doesn't look like it's still there.

I would have thought they'd be making their own RAM. I suppose all good things come to an end.A german company called Qimonda.

There is/was only something like 3 big companies that made most of the chips. Quimonda was the second largest chip manufacturer.
