    Default Modified cars?

I'm just wondering if anybody is into modifiyng cars on here.

I've just recently found myself very interested and really am thinking of taking it up as a future hobby.

Don't get me wrong, i can't even drive yet (at 18) due to my limited cash but it's deffinately somethign i'd want to do in the future.

At the moment, i'm just saving for lessons and figuring out which car to go for first. I actually like the idea of modifying and tuning whichever car i do get alot and keeping it as a long term project, investing alot into it.

My knowledge is very limited so i'm deffinately going to be doing alot of reading.

    Anybody else?

I quite like the idea myself, however I'm not hugely into the fancy paintjobs and fibreglass bodykits, I like to keep it subtle myself. I'm gonna make some small tweaks to my Clio, maybe some different tail lights, alloys, maybe some new better speakers, but I wouldn't go as far as totally modifying every aspect of it, can go easily wrong and easily kills the value of the car.

Smits - if you're looking for cars good for modifying, Citroen Saxo, Peugeot 106, Vauxhall Corsa, older Fiestas, older Clios and older models of Golf's parts are very easy to find, usually plenty in Halfords all over the country. I know you can get Haynes Max Power modifying manuals that tell you how to do everything like that aswell.

I love the whole ''euro'' look on most VW's and stuff like that.

When I'm older I'd like to buy a Lupo, Golf (I'll decide what MK when I'm older) or perhaps a Bora and ''euro'' them up.

I really want to ''euro'' a Lupo to look like this:

That one has a supercharger on it too, so I like the idea of possibly doinf that.

I used to be when I played Need for Speed and stuff But now I realise how expensive insurance is as standard and modifications only make it more so. My mate was looking at buying a Corsa with the works (full body-kit and dunno what else) but the owner said the modifications add an extra grand onto his insurance premium! No way worth it (surprises me how much chavs can afford it all as well)

I've modified my car but it's OEM+.. it's on it's arse with 3 piece splitties and US spec bits.. just keeps it subtle but different to every other standard car out there. Getting a retrim for the interior and I've fitted a factory-looking headunit, speakers are really good standard so no need to change them. Loads of fancy factory bits from VW i've spent quite a lot on too.

i'm the star in the reasonably priced car!

Yeah I modded my car. Not a lot I can do with the engine specs as i'm on my provisional license but basically just got a full cutback exhaust, 19" rims, lowered, custom pod filter box, body kit, custom wrx spoiler, underbody neons and a sound system. Hope to do more when i get my open license ^^.
