I can see why they want people to use their mobile more for internet, but you do get a better experience when using a normal computer.

Yes, but surely a 23" wide-screen monitor would still have a better experience then a smaller screen on a mobile device? Yes they are getting bigger but I hope you know what I mean.

Obviously having a large display is nice, but mobile internet is great for other reasons, honestly it can be so useful, you just need to apply your life to it, for example, if you were getting a train, but you are unaware on the train times, you could use mobile internet to check the train times, you don't exactly need a 20 inch screen to do that.

Mobile internet isn't designed to be as good as normal landline internet, but it's doing bloody well to keep up, you are able to visit pretty much everything on a iPhone/iTouch which is great - You just need to get used to how to work the browser (Zooming in/Zooming out/Typing etc) then they can be great.

Matt is correct, the experience of the internet is far better on a computer for many reasons, screen size is probably the biggest, on mobile internet devices you often have to zoom in to view certain bits of text (you certainly do on safari on the iPhone). I suppose I could also point out that I've written this post in less than half the time it'd have taken on my iphone.

Mobile internet is evolving somewhat via smartphones and this new world of mobile internet is a completely different experience of accessing the internet, probably the best thing is having internet access in 90% of the places you go, without having to carry a laptop, or tablet around. But as I said, mobile internet is a completely different world to sitting on a computer at home and although portable internet devices will grow and grow in popularity, and mobile internet on the whole will become very popular, it will never compete with home internet because it's just too different.

Trust me I know what mobile internet is like. I probably use it most of the time anyway when I'm out checking up on twitter updates, facebook and so on. It may be eco-friendly and Nokia may want more people to use it for that reason, but you won't push people away from using their normal computers fully.

Yes and for techless peeps like me who don't even surf the net on the phone it is not an option . I can imagine hand helds taken over.

Until they get satellites up there actually designed for mobile internet it will always be horrifically slow compared to proper internet period.
