Like the title says, only recently visited after a 5 year absence, worth starting again or is Habbo just not as good as it used to be?

Well it won't be as good because most the of the friends you had then will probably have moved on. It doesn't seem to have so much of a community spirit anymore where people met in the popular trade rooms and casinos such as Budy's and Blueweesh. Give a try and see what you think?

its changed, its now full of 12 year olds who think its ok to scam & move accounts every other day. forget the 'legendary' status you thought you had (if you did) because thats about to be forgotten...

thats what i thought, i was on briefly yesterday and nobody has respect.
and all these rich people now seem to think their was nobody before them and they are the legends of habbo, and i agree i remember sin!, fr00tb00ter i think another one was, RAR3, Ict, Xenophobia. Ahh the good days.

I probably stopped hardcore playing it around 2008 and even the changes just over the period since then were so drastic that I don't play it at all now. So if you haven't played since 05 you may as well go to Neopets or Club Penguin or something - that's how similar it will be to old times, sadly.
