Right, HabboxForum should have this great and immensely useful feature. At the bottom of a thread it has "related threads", which are similar to the thread the person is currently in. It is used on quite a few forums, whether it's a default feature or a plugin I know not (somebody enlighten me).

It would be beneficial in many ways. Somebody could be in an old thread and the question wasn't answered or the thread was dead. Instead of either bumping it or creating a new one, they could see the related ones below and find the answer there. Or, if somebody is interested in a topic they might see a similar one below.

    I can't see any downsides.

    What do you reckon?

its a great idea, it works so well for sites such as youtube for finding similar videos, would be great to see it here at the forum and i would support the idea all the way

It's a little box under the first post in a thread that will show threads that are of a similar topic. Eg if you made a thread "I like cheese", you might get several threads come up like "I had cheese today" "what's your favourite type of cheese" etc.

I'm not entirely sure how useful it will be on a forum like this which is mainly for chatting rather than finding information. Could be useful in the development forums though - on the other hand it might make people stop making threads + posting if they keep finding old ones.

There is also an plugin that checks relevant threads after a user has typed the title upon creating a thread - meaning if there is a relevant thread, you can click on it, check it out and that means the user can then change their mind about making a thread.

    Thanks James.

Following this I don't think it's a very good idea for Habbox as we're all for new threads, with this I can just see a lot of old threads being bumped.

Why don't you see if there is a plugin that automatically locks threads that would be seen as being bumped if replied to?

Because it's at the moderator's discretion whether to keep the thread open or not.

It looks like Blob is trying to do himself and all moderators out of a job.
