    Default Extremely Sore Wrist!

    Hey HXF..ers...

For the past, um, 5 nights, I've been having a horrible pain in my wrist. It's been getting increasingly worse each day. I've been wrapping it with medical wrap and all that, but it still doesn't seem to be getting any better. I didn't do anything to hurt it, it just all the sudden started hurting.

The only time it hurts it when it get pressured backwards (I try picking something up, or I rest my head on my hand), when pressured hard forward, or when my thumb goes too far backward.

Take your right hand and put your index finger between your middle and ring finger, and slide you finger down until you feel where your arm bone connects into your hand (You should feel veins and such as well). That's where I'm feeling all the pain.

So basically, I have 2 questions..

    1) WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH MY HAND!?

    and,

    2) Should I be seeing the doctor for this?

I'm teaching classes at a Vacation Bible School all this week, so the pain is getting to be a bit of a.. erm, pain. So if anyone has any remedy ideas, I'd love to hear them as well!

    Thanks,
    Dan

Sounds like a bit of tendonitis, is it swollen at all?

Not in the least, it's just painfully sore. Not turning red, not swollen, not itchy, etc. There's no symptoms of any kind other than the pain I've described. I thought it might be tendinitis at first, as I play guitar and piano, and I do quite a bit of typing, but it's not showing any symptoms of tendinitis.

Yes or RSI - perhaps from too much computer? When I had this I used medical sticky tape to wrap instead of a bandage. It took awhile but cleared up.

I do use the computer quite a bit, but the odd thing is is that I don't have any problems typing. In fact, the only time I have issues with guitar is when I go playing barre chords. I figured at first it was from using computer so much and typing, so I gave the typing a break, but then today, without even thinking twice, I went typing as usual, and it's no pain at all, only when I try to lift things up, or push/pull something. It's actually so bad that I couldn't lift a very small jar of pickles (No, I'm not weak, I used to lift things 100 pounds heavier than that, and it wasn't painful at all). See, I don't have time for this pain, I'm too busy to slow down.

Maybe have it checked out by the doctor?
