    Are they any good?

Looking for one for my HTC Hero which uses up a large battery pretty fast for when I go festivalling and stuff.

A wind up phone charger... how cool. Never knew they existed

I doubt they'd be as effective as a normal one though?

I googled them and yeah they exist. I dunno how good they are though because I've never tried one. Think I'm borrowing one soon so I'll post feedback!!

They're a bit of a wind-up (Sorry for that one ). Anyway I find them pretty annoying, quite slow at charging my old phone. Good idea for an emergency though.

Really you'd be better off with a battery-powered USB charger (you charge it by mains/USB), then you can charge other USB devices with it for quite a while. For example, my particular one charged my friend's iphone fully about 4 times.

Charging an iPhone 4 times in a row without a charge sounds fantastic, how big is it though?

About the same size as the iphone itself.
