    Default Junk Email.

Mass junk email is slipping through my inbox on hotmail everyday, like 30+ emails. Most likely from the same company. About 10 of each email are identical with them advertising things like grants, optical express etc. How do I get rid of this

All emails like this should have an opt-out in the small print at the bottom of the email?

If they don't have an opt out, basically, you're buggered.

Does Hotmail not have a filter system yet, like you get with Gmail?

They are all different emails. Yeah they have an opt out button but do you think each email is from the same company?

Just keep using the opt out button on various e-mails until the stream of spam slows down or stops, if not, I'd suggest changing addresses and not putting your e-mail address on any dodgy sites

mark them as junk and eventually they will all filter into the junk folder on your e-mail, try changing settings to see if you can add certain domains to a whitelist and the rest blacklist straight to junk, I'm pretty sure hotmail can do that

Sometimes the opt-out thing on emails isnt really an opt out, it just lets them know they have hit a real person!

My junk on hotmail has went up considerably since they changed to this new version (with Microsoft SmartScreen) - A lot more junk is ending up in my inbox, all I can really suggest is just keep marking the emails as junk and hope they get filtered.
