I can't talk from another perspective but I can from mine, my school has got extremely strict.

    • If you walk on the right hand side of the corridor you get detention. You must walk on the left.
    • You must wear the pacific uniform, every detail or you get sent home (Example : black trousers instead of grey)
    • You are not allowed to wear your own jumper to school or they get 'confiscated'. We must buy the schools jacket which is 150€. (I had to walk home in the rain yesterday with no jacket because I don't have a school one.)
    • If you are late by a few minutes, automatic detention.
    • Any detention received which is not done leads to suspension

Its getting ridiculous, thank god this is my last year in school. They also paid for this new system which costed them 10 grand, its basically a scan in system for attendance. Its a good idea but surely my school have bigger priority's to sort out before splashing out on new systems that really aren't necessary. I'm not even joking, when it rains the janitors leave buckets around the school because the roof leaks, I'm talking mass amounts of buckets 10+.

Surely some of these rules could be a little laid back, personally I think if some of these rules were relaxed students wouldn't be under as much pressure, as they are. Would it be worth contacting the board of eduction about the new scan in feature, the money used for the system could have been used to fix the roof.

    Before people start asking

    secondary school = 1st - 6th year
Uni / college (same thing) = 7th year basically.

Love the first rule. It's so strict but it made me laugh but when I thought of it I kinda understand. My school is too small for the few pupils it has and it takes longer than it should to get to class. The scan in system, we had to get that too but the school didn't pay for that, the department paid for it. They want all schools in Ireland to have them.
