Default I don't understand my school in 3 ways

    1. How can they expect anyone not to be against at the new points for uniform system, especially considering point #3. Their reason was that people who come around on tours find the uniform messy, I wonder what message point#3 will give off?!

    2. Linked with this, my school are offering this other points system to year 11s. Basically if we get 100 points (which is achievable in 5 weeks he said), we get out prom (or w/e you call it) ticket for free. Which is a good idea, but what if every year 11 who regularly attends does this? 200 or so people x £35 = £7000. How can they honestly afford this considering the circumstances?

    3. They have wasted alot of money and time putting up a pointless as **** fence around the school. It just makes it dodgy and tight to get through when lots of people are about. Seriously 1250+ in the school with about 1 small gate and 1 big double gate, it's not going to work well most times. It honestly feels like a prison. I also don't get how they can afford this either? Seriously.

I am really tempted to complain to my school about point #3, even though it would just cost more to tear it down.

    Schools waste so much money.

sounds exactly like the secondary school I went too, although luckily the fences were put up just after I left and are attendance only meant we got 1/2 of our prom ticket paid for Although a free prom ticket I wouldn't complain!

Our school doesn't waste to much money because there is only 400 pupils here :L the most expensive thing in the school is probably our television studio with green screen and camera and shizzle this closely followed by our apple mac suite and then all our smart boards. but i do agree some schools spend a lot of money on pointless things :L

I cant see a school paying 7k for all the prom tickets. My school did sort of waste money on school trips which where rewards for the people with the highest points every term.

I highly doubt that everyone in the year will get their tickets paid for lol. A lot of schools now have 'School Funds' where you have to pay X amount to when you go on trips or from the charity events schools host. They may be intending to pay for it from that.

My old secondary school did the same with the fences except we had two 'main' gates at either side of the school so it worked out fine. To be honest I don't think what your school is doing is that bad. They're smartening the school up, trying to smarten the students up a little bit more and if you stick to the rules you get treats at the end of the year.

He said it's achieveable in 5 weeks but whether that's really the case you won't really know. Reminds me of the merit system our school had. At beginning of the year, they'd give them out all the time then it slowly decreases until it's once every 2 months if you're lucky.

A fence around the school? But surely you only walk out of that twice a day anyway? Once to come in, once to come out. Coming in the morning won't be too bad because everyone gets in at different times. Walking out of school would be harder as everyone leaves at the same time but it's not impossible.

I doubt they'd waste money without good reason especially with the current climate we're in atm.

Our school is almost identical really, the uniform is terrible and completely mandatory else a sending home. There's a prom discount thing too- no uniform warnings, good attendance= money off. And we've had a big ugly green gate around the entire school from day one. It's a hell hole and in Year 11 we wont get to touch the brand new replacement being built across the road.

At my secondary school they got fences put around and it made it look real tacky and like a prison, we've got like 42'' tvs in our canteen @ college now theirs like 5 of them but none of them actually have a signal so u cant watch anything :s

The school gets money for each student, funding for your school from the government and they'll also get sponsorships.

I'm sure they have a lot more money than you think, my old school paid a few million on just a small new extension.

You school will also "specialise" in something, thus more funding.
