Exclamation Reasons not to buy a laser mouse

Even when you set them to low sensitivity they are over-sensitive and jitter all over the place even when you've left the mouse to sit still. Gets very annoying watching full screen video since it brings up the progress bar all the time.

Even though this is a "gaming mouse" I see no advantages of using it over an optical one (Ones with a red light at the bottom), when trying to precisely aim with a sniper the jitter is enough to totally knock your aim out, and evenever you turn around you get a bouncing effect.

Now this isn't a problem just with this mouse, because it's happened with others i've used. I've tried pretty much every available setting for the mouse, checked it had the latest drivers, reinstalled drivers, tried lots of different surfaces to use the mouse on such as non reflective ones which are recommended. But all had the same problem.

Anything else I should try? Or perhaps any suggestions on some settings.

I've yet to find a mouse that's sensitive enough for me to get a god damn sniper shot in BF:BC2 I'll sit there, clear sight of someone's head but if I move my mouse I just cant get the crosshair directly on their head, no matter how careful I am

Lol, the mouse I have is so sensitive on its highest dpi it travels accross the whole screen when you move the mouse about half a centimeter.

I'm not surprised then. Was the mousemat a cheap one from argos?

You need to get yourself a real gaming mousemat.

I use that mouse mat with my Razer Naga and I must say it is extremely accurate!
Never argue with an idiot, he'll drag you down to his level, and beat you with experience.

    I use a Logitech MX518..
Doesn't jitter for me, great feel of a mouse as well as the grip is still good.

I use it on a wooden desk, so yeah. Ex-Heavy gamer.

    I see.

I would think something is wrong with the mouse then. I can't seem to find any reviews on it (if it's the same one as in your system build thread).
