    Default iPad buggered

    Long story:
    Woke up one morning and realised my iPad hadn't charged that night, used it in the day normally absolutely fine, plugged it in that evening and it wouldn't charge. Restarted it. Tried it on my phone's USB charger, no go, tried it on my PC and MacBook, no go, but tried my phone in the Apple charger and it worked, so it must be the iPad. Now... when I plug my iPad into my PC Windows can't recognise it as my iPad but instead says "Unknown Device" and when I try it on my MacBook the system log says something like "Failed to enumerate USB device on port 2 hub0" meaning I can't get iTunes to recognise it to restore it in DFU or Recovery. Only problem is it was jailbroken. What's the chance Apple will just swap the iPad for a new one if I book a genius appointment considering it wont communicate with any computer or even boot past the Apple logo?

    Short story:
    iPad won't get recognised properly over USB meaning I can't restore. Stuck on Apple logo. Will Apple simply replace it if I book a genius appointment?

    Thanks

    EDIT: Also tried another iPod cable.

    They might replace it - depends on how long you've had it for I think though?
    By the way - I googled it and it looks like a lot of people seem to have the same problem with the iPod touch 4g and Classic, but I also found;

    http://forums.ilounge.com/ipod-class...ws-itunes.html

    Possible solution;

    Did you install a later version of iTunes recently? In both of them discussions I can see it's when people reinstall iTunes.

    It's not being recognised on:

    My PC running Windows 7 (both before + after format, in different usb ports)
    My Netbook running Windows XP
    My MacBook on OS X Snow Leopard and Windows 7

    Tried resetting it/DFU mode/recovery mode multiple times.

    I would suggest resetting it through the Settings - but if that doesn't solve it then you'll be ****** and have to sync everything from iTunes again, then redo your settings.
    Why not just give it time and see if it works afterwards?
    I read over Google that reconnecting it up to 10 times is a possible solution, but I've also found some people try it and it doesn't work, so yah..

    It won't boot so there's no way to reset them.

    I don't mind about losing everything on it, it's all easily replaceable anyway. Booking a Genius appointment now

    I seem to remember something similar happening with my iPhone but I can't for the life of me remember how I solved it.

    We were 10 mins late to our appointment so the woman that greeted us went to the back and signed us in and just told us if anyone asks we've been waiting 20 minutes, then the Genius dude was really nice, asked a few questions, tried it out and found it didn't work, made me sign a bit of paper and I walked out with a brand new iPad in 10 minutes.
