    Default 'Sheep farmer catches killer dog'

    In my local paper there was a recent report about a dog that had attacked a flock of sheep, and killed three. The dog had run away from it's owner and had travelled nearly a mile whereby it set upon the sheep. Here is a picture of the article;

    I was wondering what your thoughts on the situation was, do you think the dog should be put down? Action against the owner? Discuss.

    I think the dog should be put down or given to the police to be trained as a police dog

    It should be leased to the services.

    Instead of putting it down (its still a wild animal for god sake) just do that.

    Same with all unfit pet breeds.

    no umm I dunno, I guess it wouldn't hurt to attempt to train etc but alot of the time when a dog starts doing stuff like that then you can't do anything about it

    and what if it attacked some people instead of the sheep? that would be pretty BAAAAAAd

    So you think as long as it's trained it shouldn't be exterminated.

    Putting it down is hypocritical, it's nature is to kill for food, as is ours, we kill the same sheep for our own consumption, so there's no reason the dog should be put down.

    I'd say fine the owner for not having control of it.

    Kill it. Dogs that have been trained badly are hard to change. It's like humans; you can make us the way we are but not change it.
    One for the road. :rolleyes:

    So in this sense you'd kill anyone that ever attacked something?

    Na just jail them for life. Killing is a little more extreme than attacking. :rolleyes:
