Have you ever tried a specific method for weight control?
I doubt my diet is healthy but it keeps me slim. I use the Atkins diet to lose weight. I don't eat junk food (no takeaways, no mcdonalds) or sugar (no sweets, ice cream etc and this includes natural sugars in most fruit, so I don't eat fruit, only some types of berries) I don't eat bread, pasta, potatoes or rice either. I eat lots of protein and vegetables, however. If I want sugar, I'll use Splenda, if I want an alcoholic drink it's vodka and diet coke...but this halts ketosis for a while (fat burning due to low intake of carbs) My diet right now is certainly not balanced!
My BMI is in the normal range but I want to be slimmer for aesthetic purposes. When I've reached my target weight I'm going to introduce sugar and good carbs (eg. brown rice, wholemeal pasta) but I doubt I'll eat white pasta and bread too often, if at all.
This might sound extreme and I certainly would NOT reccomend this diet to anyone without a full medical checkup prior to starting it!!
So has anyone tried this diet or any other "fad" diets that you hear about? If so, how effective was it? Or maybe you think diets such as Atkins are a load of rubbish? Discuss![]()
