GoPro HD Camera.

Anyone ever used one? I know theres a few different types.. Im looking at getting the 960 I believe it is? Just wondering.. are they good? Worth it?

Seen them and they look great, but imo a little pricey for something you could very well easily lose up a mountain or at ocean depths (or whatever you use it for). If you have the money i'd say go for it, they've become the standard mounted camera many TV stations use aswell. But don't bother going for one of the non-HD ones, quality on those is below standard.

Yeh, thats one reason thats stopping me from buying it. Im afraid Ill lose as Ill mostly be using it for jet skiing. So yeh, very scared haha. I was thinking of maybe somehow tying some floatation device to it so it doesnt stink but instead floats if I do drop it or if it falls off my head. How is the audio on it tho? Would it be okay and possible to do like vlogs from it and stuff?

I think the audio on it is fine even in water, and I think the waterproof case makes it float, although I wouldn't count on it out at sea.

Should work fine for vlogging. (Just gotta dry out the mic hole after water use afaik).

I could be wrong but I dont think the housing case allows it to stay afloat.. but I could be wrong.. just got to try it out I guess in the shallow water hahaha. Thanks for your input dude.

The video footage is stunning for a "tough" camera, but from what I've seen, the audio quality is ~*~rubbish~*~.

Yeh, I heard in a video that the audio isnt the best. Thought it was just the background noise, hm.

For making it float, we used to have cork ball things to put on boat keys so if they went overboard they were easy to see and didn't sink, a couple of those might do.

This attachment would probably be better, that cork ball is designed for a key rather than a camera. (Best to have a wrist strap though because float or not it can still get carried away by waves).



As for audio, you could just use a seperate mic but you probably would want a music track over most sports.

Also, might sound silly but you should look at the Olympus uTough 8010. We have one and it shoots 720p underwater really well.
