Default [+REP] Hard drive mounted as hub

    This has really stumped me.

My iomega hard drive is only being recognised as a usb hub, not a hard drive. This is on Mac OS X 10.6, Windows 7 and Mint. I have tried forcing driver reinstall, got new cables and used it through a hub and everything I can think of!

Anyone shed any light on this?

Try reformatting the actual hard drive, this might sort it out.

Was hoping you wouldn't say that lol, I'll have to do it. Hate taking stuff apart unless I'm going to mod it lol

If the computer is detecting it, you may still be able to reformat it.

Its only being picked up as an hub though, so it does not think its a storage device, so no formatting options.

Ah I get what you mean now. Yeah as stated it might be something within your actual hard drive.
