Yes there's a button thing to make an event:
Edit: They also removed those room pictures/icons

Doesn't look nice, it's kinda hideous. I prefered the older one because it was more cool if you get me. This looks kinda childish and garish. I hope they add new ranks of rights because that would be so good.
