pretty much, im buying a car for about £900, but ill be paying insurance monthly...

the thing im concerned about is the deposit of like £600, because my insurance is £3100 per yr....

does the deposit count for 2 months insurance? or do i pay the deposit and the extra monthly installment after that? help! +rep....

any good alternative ideas will be helpful,

Start an e-petition on how much of a fraud car insurance is, because 3100 pound is just sheer balls out crazy and I've been getting similar quotes, they can go **** themselves if they think i'm paying anywhere near that.

I'd settle for 1500 - 2000 which was what my brother was quoted on just last year

    £3100 per year - £600 deposit = £2500 p.a. insurance premiums.
    £2500/12
    =£208.33 per month

Just out of interest, what car is it you're buying? Age/mileage etc?

Mine was ~£1800 when I was learning I think. Shot up to £2200 or something when I passed though.

Yikes! Car insurance seems to be getting a bit ridiculous these days! mine was £1200 after I had passed and then a year later I went with NFU and for £1200 I was insured on 4 different vehicles.
